Integrating Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga & Trauma-Informed Mind-Body Interventions and Therapies into Mental Health Care. (整合「創傷友善瑜伽」及「創傷知情身心介入治療」的身心健康照護的應用)
大會演講摘要
Mind-body interventions (MBIs) and therapies (MBT) for mental health care aim to integrate a person’s mind and body, positively influencing physiology and mental state, promoting wellbeing and the development of the self. These interventions and therapies can provide clients with an alternative method of engaging in treatment, that can be cost-effective and transferable across environments. As MBIs and MBTs have developed in number, diversity utility and acceptance over the past 30 years in the field of mental health care, so has the development of trauma-informed health care frameworks. Yet, trauma-informed mind, body and movement interventions and therapies that are evidence-informed or evidence-based are still in their infancy, and health professionals often experience challenges adapting their MBIs and MBTs to meet clients trauma and recovery needs. Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a trauma-informed mind, body and movement treatment, used in Trauma-informed healthcare systems around the world, that is empirically validated and can be utilised as an adjunctive therapy, or monotherapy. The principles and core elements of TCTSY can also be utilised to adapt and transform other interventions, programs and therapies to better support trauma and mental health recovery, participation and accessibility, and trauma informed care (TIC) frameworks. Reflecting on case studies encompassing narratives of client journeys and clinical perspectives, and TCTSY and mental health practice literature, this presentation will explore:
1. How TCTSY works as an adjunctive therapy for mental health care, from a clinical and service user perspective.
2. How health practitioners can draw upon TCTSY and TIC principles and core elements to transform their MBI’s and MBTs, to better support trauma survivors.
3. How the healthcare system in Australia utilises mind-body & movement interventions in clinical care.
4. What shared learning of trauma-informed Mind-Body & Movement interventions and therapies can you bring into your clinical, therapeutic, or personal practice today?
